Fully furnished and decorated MiPad Floor 3 on Ebay

Elaine Shaw (MiPad designer) has listed a brand new fully furnished and decorated MiPad Floor 3 on Ebay. All proceeds go to her friend Jacqui Shimidzu who runs a community cafe in South London. She spent many hours creating this floor because The Hill Station is no ordinary cafe, Jacqui and the staff there do some amazing work for the community but really all they need you to do is like this offering enough to put in a bid for it. MiPad, furniture, accessories and decoration if bought separately are worth over £600 but whatever it goes for is fine by Elaine and there’s no reserve price so the highest bidder wins whatever the price. Bidding started at £50 and at time of sending this it has reached £126 so you may be able to grab yourself a bargain.

In other news... where the heck have I been?!? Between being back at work full time, the kids, volunteering as an art teacher and a Girl Scout Troop Leader, my miniatures have been on the very back burner. Then my cancer came back. Or more likely they didn't get all of it 3 years ago. So four surgeries later I lost a boob, gained an implant, lost an implant and now have just started chemo and will have radiation in November. My cancer blog is here if you have any interest cancerfreecountdown.blogspot.com. I'm really hoping I can carve out some more time for minis as it truly is therapeutic but we'll see. Right now I'm trying to get the chemo pain under control and sleep whenever I can. Hope you all are happy, healthy and enjoying your summer!

MiPad is up and running

So we bought our first house a year ago, and I'm finally getting around to setting up some of my dollhouses. We've had renovations that have gotten in the way but I found a corner in this room where the MiPad now lives. I think the bathroom turned out a little too large so I'll shrink that down a bit, but for now I have a least one completed dollhouse. Many more to come as I unpack more of my minis.

MiPad in Black & White

This is the start for my entry for the contest and my first time working in the MiPad: Black & White Loft. I still need to find art and a rug or two. I plan on trying out different themes in the MiPad. For this one, I envision a "Sex in the City" vibe. An upscale loft for a single professional lady needing a break from the big city life.

Yes realistically, a shower and kitchen sink separated by a bamboo partition is probably not the most hygienic, but under the stairs was the most privacy I could find for the loo.

Happy Days Are Here Again!

Oh happy days! My MiPad floor plan 3 arrived from MIAIM Miniatures by Elaine Shaw. It took less than 15 minutse to unwrapped and assemble. The only tool needed for the design I chose was a screw driver to attach the front hinged wall to the house.

I set up the house with a black and white theme and I'll try to photograph and post photos later tonight.

The house was incredibly well packed so there was no damage from the oversees shipping. The walls, floor and ceiling were all individually wrapped so they wouldn't scratch or damage each other durning transit. The directions are super easy to follow (although the house is designed so well you don't really need them). You are supposed to attach the stairs before you assemble the house, but I wasn't going to use them for my first design so you'll notice they're missing in the first assembled pics. Then I changed my mind, and popped them in place, as the stairs are too cool not to use.


I love how every edge is finished so once assembled it is ready for decorating. The high quality materials and polished edges on the acrylic really make this the best manufactured dollhouse I've seen. I'm really impressed with Elaine's designs and the manufacturer she's working with.

Elaine is working on more floor designs and extensions. I can't wait to expand on to this house. Currently there are 4 floor designs to choose from at £150 per floor, along with some great modern furniture. More info on the house designs can be found on MIAIMminiatures.com
