The House My Mom Built - UPDATE

Thanks for the nudge Wende. The garage is cold and wet, so progress has been slow on the renovation side of things. I finally finished cutting out and sanding all of the new window and door fittings. I removed the old Colonial roof to replace with a more contemporary roof top. I yanked the wall separating the kitchen and living room so I can change the direction of the staircase and have half of the kitchen open to the new dining area. Next, measure, cut, assemble the roof and siding; paint; tile flooring; molding... I seriously can't wait to start decorating.

  1. Yay! Thank you for the update! It's amazing how long the boring bits of construction/rehab go on, isn't it? I always think that part's going to be over long before it's actually done.

Looking forward to seeing how you decorate...

  2. I look forward to updates on your house... I'm working on a traditional style house, too, that will be decorated super modern and I love that other people are doing this kind of thing rather than Victorian!

  3. dr wende - I can't wait to decorate! I wish I could fast forward the build, but it is a great learning process.

tarkus - Thanks for blogging your dollhouse! Congrats on finishing the build and the wiring. I am so dreading wiring. Looking forward to seeing your completed rooms. I have a bunch of the same stuff from Dolls House Emporium. :)
