This was the last of the 1:12 scale Paul MacAlister miniatures on ebay (see my other posts for more information on Paul MacAlister). I did win two of the auctions (blue chair and bamboo set), but I lost serveral due to my own ineptitude. Waiting to the last minute to snipe an item and tring to cook/feed your children dinner do not equal an ebay winner. D'oh! I forgot to increase my max bid on the mirror, and then completely missed bidding on a few items dealing with a melt down from the 2-yr-old. And I burned the green beans. Sigh. Here are all of the beauties to remember.

These pieces have functioning drawers which are skillfully constructed just like real furniture with mortised corners. All the cases have mortised corners which show the layers of wood to give a Herman Miller / Thin Edge look to these pieces. There's a great contrast between the walnut tops & drawer fronts, the blond edges and the red panels. Both have metal bases and legs.

Hey Plushpussycat You are welcome! I figure since I can't have all of them, I at least want to be able to look at them whenever I want. Especially since ebay erases photos from old listings, I didn't want these pictures to disappear.

There is not a whole lot out there on Mr. MacAlister, but ebay seller countryhomme sent me some fantastic vintage pamphlets on Mr. MacAlister's Plan-A-Room that has information I couldn't find on google. I will scan and post within the next week. He is selling the 1:24 scale Paul MacAlister miniatures now that I will post tomorrow. All of the information I could find on Mr. MacAlister is in my other 4 posts with more photos here, here, here, and here.
mini smiles,
mmh

ReplyDeleteMy package arrived on Friday, but we were at the zoo, so I have to pick it up at the post office on Monday. I hate waiting. Can't wait to see it all.
The wooden armchair design I viewed at the top furniture store in London was stunning in terms of woodwork, craftsmanship and hand polishing that forced me to do away with my modern looking fabric upholstered armchairs and go for a pair of these ornate design French armchairs in natural hardwood that are ‘classic beauty’.
