Last chance - The Citadel by Lolly's now $150 bid!

The Citadel by Lolly's is back on ebay with a lower starting bid of $150 (this time there is no free shipping though). The last ones were selling for around $800-$850 from Lolly directly for this same assembled shell. The seller has health issues and is unable to finish the house, she's located in Lakeville, Connecticut. At the bidding rate, someone might walk away with a steal when the auction ends tomorrow.

This is one of my favorite modern houses. Lolly's mother always had a passion for modern and designed this house, as well as many other houses that Lolly's sells. The first photo is of the original version of The Citadel that still resides at Lolly's in Elgin, Illinois (I went on my trip to Chicago and will be posting pics soon).

The Citadel by Lolly's is on ebay!

I was super excited to see The Citadel by Lolly's on ebay, but the lead image is the original that I believe is still on the shelves at Lolly's Shop in Elgin, Illinois. I hope to make a trip to Lolly's Shop to find out when I'm in town for Chicago International (who else is going, wanna meet up?). The Citadel for sale on ebay is the pre-built shell. And is listed with a starting bid of $1,500!?!? The last one I saw on ebay was used and didn't sell at $750 but accepted a $400 offer, pick up only. This one includes shipping.

Here are the details from the ebay listing:
"The Citadel by Lolly's -- pre-built shell -- measures approx. 20 1/2" D, 30 1/2" W, and 34 1/2" H. Instructions are included giving directions for completion as well as the "Deed" filled out by Lolly's certifying this is not a spin off. If you google Lolly's Citadel you will be able to see completed as well as semi-completed houses. I am not aware if they are still being made - if so in very limited numbers. I bought it a couple of years ago with intentions on completing it but due to health reasons it is still in the as new condition that I received it in."

Citadel by Lolly's

The Citadel is one of my favorite houses. I saw an add for this in a really old Miniature Collectors magazine and more recently on www.geocities.com/moderndollhouse/. I called Lolly's Dollhouse Shop yesterday to confirm, and sadly they are still waiting for a woodcutter before resuming production. Possibly by the end of the year. I'm tempted to fly to Chicago and cut the wood myself. If you are in the Chicago area I'd drop by and ask them when its back. Maybe enough pre-orders can help find a woodcutter faster.

On the back right shelf is a white version of the Citadel. (Sigh) I really want it.
