Many of us have commented on how we'd love to live in some of our dollhouses (The Shopping Sherpa does at 1:25 min here) ...now you can actually put yourself in your dollhouse.
Twinkind, a new company based in Hamburg, Germany, can turn you, your loved ones, or your pets into remarkably detailed figurines. Using 360-degree scanning and 3-D printing technologies, Twinkind is making realistic statues that capture everything from facial expressions and hair styles to the folds in your clothes.
The final figurines range in size from roughly 6″ (around $300) to 13″ (around $1,700) plus the cost of the trip to Hamburg. Hopefully they will be expanding to different countries. I think it would be so cool to have my mini me living in my dollhouse.

3D things will surely develope! thanks for the interesting link!
ReplyDeleteThey are so realistic, I just want a bunch of different people in standing and sitting positions that I could use to make people really look twice at my dollhouse pics. There just aren't enough modern 1:12 scale dolls out there.
DeleteWow! I would love that! Lets all think...come to the USA and maybe they will come! LOL
ReplyDeleteIf they come to the US (and lower the cost) I would totally consider getting some of my family. :)
DeleteIf they were closer I'd do it, that would be so cool :)
ReplyDeleteHopefully the price will drop too by the time they make it the US. :D
Deletethis is so cool! imagine the possibilities! :-)
ReplyDeleteCrazy cool. I love what technology is bringing us.
DeleteI thought this was farce till I saw the powdered version of the prints. Strange how movie magic and technology reality starts to coalesce, replicator anyone?
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many hours..*er years*.. at the computer it would take me to cad out a fully detailed fantasy house, carvings and all? *cackle*
I had to a double take too. Almost kinda creepy how much detail they capture.
DeleteI think you're on to something. Today it would take forever, but who knows, custom printed dollhouses could be the wave of the future.
