brinca dada fabulous furniture
I am incredibly jealous of petite nouveau and Modern MC's Emerson Houses, and you too Melissa and mini2b. [side note: I must say, I was surprised it is a kit; a finished and pre-wired kit, but still a kit. For some reason I thought it came pre-assembled. I had inquired about the Bennett House being a kit or pre-assembled and Doug from brinca dada said "The Bennett House will also be 3/4 scale and it will require assembly. It's not a kit in the sense that everything needs to be painted, etc. But it is not pre-assembled." For some reason (wishful thinking?) I interpreted that it was the same scale but thought differed by requiring assembly. I should have paid better attention in English classes.]
I popped over to the brinca dada website and ooo la la, I hadn't realized the furniture photos were up. I'm drooling. The 32 piece, 7 room, wood furniture set is 3/4" scale, and is scheduled to be released in time for the 2010 Holidays. I love the bath tub! I'm really looking forward to seeing the furniture finished.
Details from the website: The Classic Contemporary furniture line from brinca dada is the perfect complement to both Emerson House and Bennett House. The line's clean and sophisticated aesthetic mixes classic modern design with contemporary “in fashion” highlights. In the words of our designers, “The key was to work on every detail to add an extra dimension of authenticity to this dollhouse. We used American black walnut as a common thread, giving a contemporary feel to each room. We then added color as accents, but also as an attraction to children's sensibilities.”
Classic Contemporary offers furnishings for 7 rooms (living, dining, kitchen, office, bath, master bedroom and children’s room) and is fashioned from high-quality woods and non-toxic, lead-free stains and paints.

I love the idea of it being a kit! I do wish the furniture was going to be available in pieces though (I've heard that it's not)

ReplyDeleteI actually don't mind it being a finished kit, but I just mistakenly thought it was pre-assembled. I wish the furniture was available by room too, but I've also heard their plan is to sell all 7 rooms in one package.
I thought I would buy one when I first saw it but I think I am enjoying building my own. Also I have very little room left in my house. Maybe the Bennett house...I do like the looks of that one.
ReplyDeleteClaro que estaras impaciente por recibirlo, estoy impaciente yo por ver cómo los ensamblas y los colocas. Tienen una linea moderna y elegante.

I must admit I was mistaken as well (and I did pay attention in the English classes - haha) so you're not the only one.
ReplyDeleteI love the furniture, hopefully they will find a way to ship internationally before the holidays. But I'm not sure if it's so wise just to sell all or nothing. I'm sure many could afford to buy one room but not all the rooms at once.
I don't think any of us thought "kit" when we heard about this house. Even when I initially blogged about it, and then followed up with Doug of Brinca Dada for my article for Dolls Houses Past & Present, did "kit" come up! It didn't occur to me to ask, and I think given it is Brinca Dada's foray into dolls houses, it did not even occur to them that it would be anything but a kit. Interesting. The furniture is great, right? I especially love the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI love everything of this furniture, there's no single piece I wouldn't like to add to my collection. It is very painfull to know it is in the right scale for me - so I MUST have it.
ReplyDeleteI really hope they do not stop to sell it soon, so that I can try to get one next year or 1212 - haha!
Megan you are allways so quick with the newest informations - thanks for that.
Great furniture, but what happened to their orange sectional that they had originally on their website??
ReplyDeleteLove it! Will it be at the SF event? C
ReplyDeleteI find it a bit "meh". I guess they're going for a kids market aswell but to me it all seems a bit standardised. Especially with it being a bundle and with the house being so individual it kind of misses the point for me. I think what Petite Nouveau has done with hers looks far better.
ReplyDeleteAll the collection is great and it goes perfect with the Emerson house !. It's clean and sophisticated. congrats ! who was the interior designer ?
ReplyDeleteThis is a very beautiful house with it being 3/4 scale how big is it?
ReplyDeleteThese designs are amazing. I love contemporary furniture. I particularly like the kitchen image and the bathtub. The furniture is also so sleak and simple.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great pictures.
