It may look a little retro or contemporary, but this house screams modern to me. Anyone else in?

    1. I'm pretty sure they have had past entries from outside of the US. I just emailed HBS but I think it's open to overseas people as soon as the kit is back in stock. I'll keep you posted. I'd love to see how you could spin this one.

  2. Urgh: out of stock and they won't back order for international customers or give you any indication of what shipping might be in advance. :-(

Otherwise I might just be tempted...

    1. I emailed HBS to inquire about international shipping costs. I'll do what I can to tempt you, it would be great to see your take on this one.

  3. I suggested a Marajana Shop in Colorado to Neen, but she said the state the contest is in is not one of the liberal ones. You could have protesters.... buyers... medicinal users, What a scene... ;0 CM

    1. A few years ago one of the winners was meth lab...it was awesome! There was a lot of controversy over it though.

    2. Carol, the meth lab won second place in the 17th annual contest. You can see the pictures here:

That year HBS posted the winning photos on facebook without the descriptions and some people were offended and thought the win was in poor taste. But once they posted the description of what inspired Kat to create the house, I think people were more receptive to it.

      from the link above:
Kat created “Meth Lab Home” after extensive research to bring awareness to the fact that we are all impacted – in one way or another – by the tragedy of methamphetamine use. Kat will use her model to educate others, and says: “I am going to try to put together a flyer with information from one of the local law enforcement agencies so that people can report sightings of suspected meth houses (or recognize what they are seeing if they stumble across a site while hiking or camping).”

    1. I know what you mean, a beach hut would be so cool. Do you remember that post MC Modern did about the Beach Hut models? Here's some inspiration: http://minimodern.blogspot.com/2008/03/21st-century-beach-hut-models.html

  5. I like this one too! I never know what it might be until I have the kit in hand, and then it evolves as work progresses.

    1. I always have big plans, but completion has been my downfall. I bought 3 of the MiniTown Loft kits in hopes of building side by side New York urban lofts, but didn't find the time. I hope you do this one, I'd love to see what yours evolves into. :)

  8. Looks like a great space to renovate! I was really tempted when I saw it... but I keep telling myself that I must finish what I have going on first ;D
